November 6, 2009 – Northern California Islamic Council grieves with fellow Americans and condemns senseless act of violence at Fort Hood.

The Northern California Islamic Council (NCIC) expresses its horror and outrage at the heinous act of violence committed by a disturbed individual at Fort Hood, Killeen, Texas. Thousands of Muslim Americans and Arab Americans serve honorably in the United States armed forces and the National Guard and we categorically condemn this despicable act. We are deeply saddened by this senseless tragedy and offer our heartfelt condolences to the friends and families of victims. The Red Cross is providing assistance at the site and we call on our members and fellow Americans to contact their local Red Cross and donate blood.

Northern California Islamic Council (NCIC) is a coalition of member organizations founded on the concept of Islamic Shura or Consultation.
